How does the broadband-recycle scheme work?
Broadband recycle is a freepost scheme – it won’t cost you a penny to send in your equipment.
1. Complete your personal details and state the amount of items you will send.
2. You have the option to either print a special pre-paid freepost returns label, or opt to receive a pre-paid returns jiffy bag which will be sent to you within seven working days.
3. The label will contain a tracking code that you can use on the site to track the status of your equipment so make sure that however you send your equipment, this tracking code is on the package.
What types of equipment do you take?
We’re happy to accept all brands and models of broadband hardware and accessories, including;
- ADSL Filters
- Modems
- Routers
- VoIP equipment
- Wireless PC Cards (PCI) and Wireless Adapters
- Power adapters
If you have any queries about the type of hardware or the brand and model we accept, please call us on 0870 600 3332 or email care@broadbandrecycle.com.
What happens when I send the equipment?
Thank you for taking the time to send your equipment! We can now test the equipment and judge the condition – we’ll put it through strict testing to see if it could be reused or recycled.
In fact, we’ll email you a tracking code to see the progress of the equipment that you send in. You can regularly check the status of your equipment. Once the status appears as ‘accepted’ this means the unit has been successfully tested and progresses to being reused or recycled.
We’ll also email you with a £5 prezzybox.com voucher code on your status page.
When you return your Broadband equipment, please note that if any non broadband specific items are returned, we will store the item for three months and then donate to charity if no contact has been made by the user.
What do the “actions” on my email mean?
On receipt of your equipment, Broadband Recycle can automatically tell you the condition of each item. Here’s the meaning behind each action on your email:
1. Refurbished - Broadband Recycle has tested the condition of the item and rate this as working and potentially a reusable unit. No parts will be sent to landfill.
2. Parts recycle – It seems your Broadband equipment has been rated as faulty. Not to worry! Broadband Recycle welcomes damaged hardware because all the parts can be used again.
This is the most environmental option to ensure that no part is discarded.
3. Landfill – You’ll never see this action on your email because no part of your equipment will be sent to landfill!"
